Happy Winter

Welcome to Day 22 of my holiday series and Happy Winter. Today is the first day of winter even though it has felt like winter pretty much all month. This weekend is supposed to be even colder.

To make this card, I started with a white top folding A2 card base and a white panel.  I used several colors of ink and randomly blend a background. I placed the colored panel in a 3D snowflake embossing folder where it would deboss the colored background. Next I used a navy ink pad and drug it across the entire panel using the direct to paper technique. To finish the card, I used a white gel pen to colors in the dots white and added a die cut sentiment.

Watered Down Birthday

It's time for our new challenge at Addicted to CAS. Vicky is our host and she chose the code word Water. Now you are probably thinking where is your water, right?
Well I took the challenge to another level and instead of making a card with water like an ocean, pool, rain ect..
I used water in my technique.

To create this card, I started with a white top folding card base and a watercolor paper panel.  I inked up the stamp with a water based ink and then spritzed the stamp with water before I stamped it on the watercolor cardstock.

CASE Me A Christmas Card

My fiend Michelle Lupton invited me to participate in her christmas card seri this year, what an honor!

How this works is I choose one of her cards and CASE it into a Christmas card. In case you don't know what CASE means, it means copy and share everything. You will always want to make it your own though by changing it up just a little. I my card I used a different stamp and sentiment with a thinner sentiment strip.

Here is the card I chose to case.

For my card I started with a white top folding card base. Michelle used a stencil for her card, I used a stamp. I also used blue because Michele loves blue and is on the search for the perfect Michelle blue.
To ink up the stamp I used Suede Shoes by Catherine Pooler and because I didn't have matching cardstock I made my own with the ink.
I am so excited and thankful to join Michelle because I love Christmas and Michelle so it's a win, win.

Beyond The Blue #6

It's time for another Beyond The Blue challenge. This week is Negative Space Monoprints, you can find the tutorial HERE.

To create my card I started with a white top folding card base and a gel print that I created using the Brocade stencil by A Colorful Life Designs. I cut the smile die cut from holographic paper and added it to the front along with a sentiment from the Tim Holtz Small Talk sentiment strips .

Sweet 'n Sassy September Release Bloghop

Welcome to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps September Release Hop!
There's another fabulous release in the SNSS shop that we've been stamping with and we're so excited to share our projects with you! Hop along and leave a little comment love for the designers linked below and you might just be a lucky winner! One lucky comment from all the comments along the hop will win a $10 gift voucher to the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps shop. Winner will be announced on the SNSS blog, Wednesday, September 25.

I used the Warmth of Christmas set for my two cards but I have a couple more using the Deck the Halls set also in this release HERE

To create these two cards I started with a top folding white card base and a panel of bristol smooth card stock. I have found that ink blending is so much easier on bristol.
I used some Catherine Pooler inks and the Life Changing Blender Brushes to achieve the night sky, I started with Suede Shoes, added Queen for a Day on top of that and then Juniper Mist to finish it. I spritzed it with water and then added snow using a Bistro Chalk marker by Marvy Uchida. I left some white space at the bottom to add the greeting.
for the lamp on the first card I started with a yellow space and went around it with the night sky combo. The second card I actually masked off the space.

Here is the line up, be sure to leave comments to be eligible for the prize

AAA Sketch

AAA Card challenge is back for the new year and we are doing things a little different for the new year, our games have a new twist option. This twist is totally optional so you don't have to use the twist to win. As you can see I opted not to use the twist on my card, other Christmas the other holiday I love sending cards out is valentines day so the pastel colors didn't quite fit for this card.

To create my card I started with a top folding card base and a white panel cut down a quarter of an inch smaller. I added three strips of wash and a word die in the center.

CAS-ual Fridays Heat Embossing

Today is my first challenge post as a Girl Friday!
I have loved playing along and now I get to play as a girl friday so exciting. Our challenge is Heat Embossing and runs for two weeks so I hope you will have tie to play along.

To create my card I started with a white top folding card base, a white panel cut down with a stitched die and one of the newest CAS-ual Fridays sets Peaceful Garden. I stamped the flowers using Catherine Pooler inks in All That Jazz and Flirty Fushia and then stamped the greeting using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.  It's kinda hard to tell used clear embossing powder on the swirly part of each flower and on the greeting.

Rainbows

It's time for new challenge at Addicted to CAS. Barb is our host and she chose the code word Rainbow. Our sponsor is Happy Little Stamps with a gift certificate to their store.

Rainbows and unicorns are my favorite and normally I would have used them together but I made a card for Pride month because love is love. If we would love others as God loves us then the world would be a much better place. Love God Love people, all the people.
To create this card I started with a top folding white card base and a white panel cut down with a stitched die. I used the Rainbow Wishes bundle by Concord & 9th and stamped the rainbow with Catherine Pooler inks.

Happy Mother's Day

It's time for a new challenge at AAA Cards and our sponsor is Happy Little Stampers with a $20 gift card.

Mother's Day can be a day that emotions are taken from one extreme to the other. Most see this day as a happy day celebrating their moms but for me it's not such happy day as it reminds me of how much I miss my mom who I lost when I was 21 years old to breast cancer, so my card today is to honor her.
To create my card I started with a top folding card base and a stitched scalloped die by My Favorite Things. I used the Faithful Flutterings stamp set by Catherine Pooler along with her amazing inks in Party Dress and Be Mine.
The greeting is by Verve
