Stencil Crazy

A new challenge is up at Beyond the Blue, we are just a group of friends that started a challenge blog for fun. I hope you will play along.  

For my card I started with a top folding white card base and a white panel.  I used two stencils to make this gel print. 

The Happy Birthday by Waffle is my go to birthday sentiment. I have a container with several of them for quick cards.

Bubbling Hearts

Welcome to day 9 of my Valentines series. 

Today's card is brought to you by Gina K designs and Gel Press. 

To make this card I started with a white top folding card base and a Gel Press Print. 

This card has no stamping but instead I used die cuts and one of my prints.

You may be wondering why I still have my Mistis listed on my affiliate links when I have no stamping. I use my Misti with every single card I make because it to help me line things up. In this case I placed a sticky mat in my Misti and used the Mis-T Ruler to line up the word love.

Gel Press

It's time for a new challenge at Beyond the Blue Challenges. We are just a group of friends that follow Lydia (understandBlue) and have started a challenge blog using some of her fabulous techniques for fun. I hope you will play along.

Our new challenge is to use a gel press print on your project. If you follow Lydia like we do, I'm sure you have lots of prints you can choose from.

To make my card I started with a white top folding card base, a black panel and a Gel Press Print from my stash.

I can't exactly remember the technique but I do know that we used an embossing folder and the Gel Press.

I used my favorite happy birthday greeting to finish the card.

MTCC 59 - A Sketch

It's time for a new challenge at Make the Cards Challenge and for the next two weeks we have a sketch for you to try.  I love sketches and look forward to seeing how you interpret this sketch. 

For my card I started with a top folding white card base and a white panel. For the strips I used a gel press pull and some glitter paper. 

Beyond The Blue - Gel Press

It's time for a new challenge at Beyond The Blue. Our challenge for the next two weeks is to get out that gel plate and have fun! 

I love to gel print and I don't do it enough, mainly because I have to pretty much have a clean desk and that rarely happens.  

I do have lots of prints on hand because when I do get to use my gel plate I spend hours and lots of paper having fun! 

To create this card I started with a white top folding card base and a print from my stash that I cut dow to 3 3/4 x 5.

I added this large birthday greeting and a few sequins t finish a quic and easy card.

Make The Cards Challenge #50

It's time for a new challenge at Make The Cards Challenge. The challenge is to use an embossing folder. 

I used an embossing folder with a gel press technique. 

To create this card  I started with a top folding white card base, a black panel and a white panel for the technique. 

I ran the white panel through my die cutting machine with a brick embossing folder and then used the Gel Press and some acrylic paint to print it.

Beyond the Blue 52

Welcome to Day 10 of my valentines inspiration series. Today's card is also for the new challenge at Beyond the Blue to use a Gel Press pull. 

To create this card I started with a white top folding card base and a white panel. 

I placed the new Sticky mat by My Sweet Petunia in the Original Misti and then placed my panel in the middle of it and then inked up the script background. I love the sticky mat for this, you don't have to worry about your paper shifting if you need to stamp again. 

Next using the heart die cut, I cut out of the center of the panel, the gel press print and then a couple more times on scrap paper for dimension. I glued them all together and placed it in the negative space of the panel. 

To finish the card I used the love word die by Poppy Stamps and cut it out in gold for the background and white for the letters and then placed it over the heart.

Make the Cards #38 - A Color Challenge

Just realized that this didn't post while I was out of the country , sorry!

A new challenge is up at Make the Cards Challenge. This week we have a color challenge for you with is a mossy green or any color of green you chose. 

My card was super easy to make, I used a gel press background from my stash and the Happy Birthday die by Simon Says Stamp.

Just a Card

Happy Friday!

It's my turn to play in the Beyond The Blue challenge. Each week (I play every other week) a group of us friends who follow Lydia aka Understand Blue use a technique that we have learned from her of another crafter on our projects and challenge you to lay along. 

This weeks challenge is Gel Press Layering and using white ink, you can find it HERE

To create my card I started with 80lb white cardstock to use in the gel press, Distress Oxides and Atelier inks.

I placed my Gel Press on the lid of the Original Misti and inked it up with Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean Distress Oxides and went over it with the brayer, then closed the lid and pressed into the paper I had laid inside. 

Next I inked up the Gel Press again and this time laid a stencil over the paper, closed the door and pressed the ink into the stencil to give it a second layer. 

I cleaned the Gel Press really good and inked it up using the Shark Bite Atelier ink, placed the same stencil down and then closed the lid, this gave a third layer.

For the final layer I inked up the Spring Flowers background stamp by Simon Says Stamp with Trinity Teal Atelier ink. 

To finish the card I embossed the sentiment from the XL Greetings 2 with white embossing on a piece of black cardstock, cut it out with the coordinating die and popped it on the front of the card.

MTCC- A Color Challenge

Happy Monday!

Monday means it's time for a new challenge at Make The Cards Challenge blog.

This week we have another color challenge for you. 

I love the colors of this one, they are so perfect for Easter or Spring cards. 

To create my card I started with a white top folding card base and a panel of bristol. 

I created the background using a technique that I learned at a Gel Press workshop and the stamped the flowers from the Bouquet of Thanks set by Simon Says Stamp. I didn't use it, but there is also a coordinating die that I linked below. 

After I stamped my image I colored it using alcohol markers.
