Coastal Cabana Holiday

My card today is for the last HYCCT challenge"Another year in the books" I can't believe October is already over, where did it go? The challenge was to create a card inspired by a childhood book. Since I didn't have any "Pooh" stamps, I chose a Laura Ingals Wilder book, Little house in the big woods. I loved the books and the series that was inspired by them little house on the prairie.
To make y card I started with a piece of watercolor paper and masked off the bottom, that would be my "snow". I mixed some Coastal Cabana Re inker, one of my favorite Stampin Up colors with some alcohol to make my own spritz and spritzed my watercolor paper with it. I removed the mask and stamped a tree from the set Festival Of Trees several times, some using the entire tree and others only using a portion of it.  I added a house  and greeting form the Holiday Home set  to finish it off.

I am entering this one in the challenge at Less is More, non traditional christmas card.

Supply List:
Stamp Sets: Holiday Home, Festival of Trees, (Stampin Up)

Hello Friend

I am also sharing this one on the Sweet 'n Sassy Blog

Today I am playing with this cute vintage set,  Keep In Touch. I love this vintage typewriter and I found the perfect design paper to go with it from My Minds Eye.
To make my card I started out with a Pool Party base cut to A2 size, next I added the quotation design paper cut to 4 x 5 1/4. The next step was to add my 2" strip across my card. I then stamped the typewriter in Pool Party on a scrap sheet of paper and on my stitched circle.  Next I stamped my greeting on a small piece of paper to fit the typewriter, curled it a bit, then glued it down, I then used the coordinating die to cut the one I stamped on my scrap paper, and placed it on top of the other for dimension and this makes it look as though my paper is feeding out of the typewriter.

I also made  this one for one of the HYCCT Challenges on Splitcoast Stampers. The challenge is "keep In Touch"  fitting huh?

I also used some techniques I learned in my OCC colic class of backgrounds. I actually used Copic markers to make my cloud background instead of sponging. For the patterns on my balloons I used a white Signo pen
