Freshly Made Sketches #260

It has been a long time since I played along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge blog, I love sketch challenges so I am really not sure why it has been so long. Here is this weeks sketch

To make this card, I started with a Watermelon Wonder card base that worked perfect with the Christmas Perfectly Plaid design paper from Lawn Fawn. I stamped the poinsettia image from the set Reason for the Season from Stampin Up on watercolor paper and used Zig pens to color it. I used a stitched die from My Favorite Things to cut the design paper panel. To finish the card I added the sentiment embossed in white to the strip of Watermelon Wonder.

I also made this card for one of the Falliday challenges at Splitcoaststampers. 

Thanks and Giving

Another quick share for the Fallidays challenges at Splitcoaststampers. This card  is Lori's challenge of texture and uses a Ghosting technique. It was simple to make I started with a top folding white card base and a white panel cut with a stitched die. For the background I blended lots of distress inks, Carved Pumpkin, Rusty Hinge, Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon and Mustard Seed. I used a leaf stamp from the Vintage Leaves Stampin Up set and wet it with some water and then let it sit on the paper for about 5 seconds, The distress inks reacted to the water and left the imprint of the leaf. I added a little more texture by using a stencil with Gathered Twigs and to finish it I added a sentiment from a retired SU set.

Watercolored Christmas

 I am still making card for the Falliday challenges and today I am playing with some Concord & 9th for Joyce's challenge which was to use a set differently than it is intended.   I used a couple different sets to bring this card together. 

 To make my card I started with a top folding card base and a piece of watercolor paper. I randomly stamped images from the Wildflower set that is definitely not a Christmas set, and used Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens to watercolor them. The greeting is from the O Christmas Tree set also from Concord & 9th. To finish the card I ran the watercolored panel though my die cut machine using the Quilted Stitched pattern from Lil' Inker Designs.

Crazy Dogs

Happy Sunday!  It's time for another challenge at AAA Cards, our sponsor for our masculine challenge is Stampendous and if you play along you have the chance to won a $20 gift certificate.

For today's card I am laying with  Tim Holtz' Crazy Dogs, they are the cutest. 

Making this card was so simple, I started with a top folding Crumb Cake base and a white stitched panel using my go to frame from My Favorite Things from the Blueprints 15 set. I stamped the image and colored it with Copic markers, then masked it off and used a stencil and some Ground Expresso distress ink to create the background. To finish it off I added the sentiment in the center.

Today I am on the So Suzy Stamps blog sharing a card using this gorgeous Maple Line Leaf from the October release and the greeting You Got This.  this card is for a friend of mine who found out she has stage 4 cancer and she loves the fall colors.

To make my card I started with a white top folding card base,a stitched panel, some design paper and distress inks. I stamped the leaf image three times across the front of the panel and then created a mask for each of them by stamping the image on some removable adhesive labels and hand cutting them out. Next I placed the mask I created over each of them and sponged Rusty Hinge, Fozziled Amber and Carved Pumpkin distress inks around them at an angle covering them but leaving some white space at the top and bottom. 

I finished the card by removing the masks and stamping the sentiment at the bottom.
