Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's day to all you dads out there and a very Happy Fathers Day to the single moms who are filling both the mom and the dad role.
Today I am sharing the card I made for my husband.
This Dad's Day set was released back in May but I held out on inking it up until now so I could use it for the hubs card.
To create this card I started with a white card base, a black panel and a Bristol panel. I stamped the burger image using Fadeout ink by Ink on 3 and colored it using Karin markers. This was super fun to color and I love how realistic it looks.

Picket Fence Release Day

It's release day at Picket Fence Studios and yes it's another fabulous one, a great mix of stamps, dies and stencils.
I am sharing two cards today and will share more during the week but you can find the entire release HERE

Now for the deets of my cards

My first sample above uses the To the Lovely Couple set, I love, love, love this set with the big ole cake and perfect sentiments for a wedding, engagement  or anniversary and you could even use a birthday sentiment with it as well.

To create this card I started with a top folding bristol card base and a panel of bristol. I used the Karin markers to color the image and they blend so well on bristol cardstock. I stamped the image using Fadeout ink by Ink on 3 ad then colored it with the Karin markers. I added the greeting and embossed it with gold embossing powder. To finish the card I added a gold Peel Off by Love from Lizi down the right side.

For my second sample I used the Bird of Paradise Flowers set. I actually had to google the flower because I had never seen one. they are gorgeous flowers and do look similar to a bird.

To create this card I started with a white top folding card base, a black panel for the mat and a panel of bristol for the image. I stamped the image with our Black Hybrid ink and colored it using the Karin markers as well. After I got it all colored I added a very light gray shadow to make it stand out a little more. I stamped the greeting and then embossed it in clear embossing power.

Stop back by tomorrow for more from the May release.

Grow Through What You Go Through

I am up on the Picket Fence Studios blog today with this card using the Ponchatoula Strawberries set from our April release.
Picket Fence has become now for their large images and this one does not disappoint. I love that it has coordinating diesThe greeting I used is from the Face The Sun stamp set also a large image from our April release.
This greeting is so appropriate for what we are currently going through as a nation and as a world, but it is also appropriate for me. Today marks the one year anniversary of one of my older brothers committing suicide. Your world changes when the word suicide enters your vocabulary as a reality. You have to grow through what you go through, since my brothers death I have become an advocate for the suicide prevention hotline. With the COVID-19 the suicide rate is predicted to go up due to no jobs and the overwhelming responsibilities.
I pray that if any of you ever contemplate suicide you will call the number
1-800-273-8255

Now for details of my card. I started with a black top folding card base and a panel of bristol card stock. I stamped the image from the Ponchatoula Strawberries set on the bristol and colored it using Karin Markers, these markers blend beautifully on bristol.
After I got the image all colored I used the Coordinating dies to cut it out and added it to the card front using foam tape but before I did that I stamped the greeting from the Face the Sun set and embossed it in white. I just love how it all pops on the black card base.
