A Little Nuts

I am up on the Picket Fence Studios blog today sharing this shaker card using the new Slim Line Die Cutting System. This is the first card I made using this new system and it was so fun!

To create my card I used the smaller of the two panel dies and cut one of white and the other out of Kraft cardstock. I ink blended a sky background on the white one and the Kraft one I cut of three of the squares that has the trees from the SDCS. I used Snowdrop Paper Glaze to make the trees look more like birch and added the notches on the tree with a brown Micron pen.

Next I stamped the squirrels from the A little Nuts on a seperate piece of cardstock, colored them using Copic markers and cut them out with the Coordinating dies. I added them along with the sentiment to the blended background.

To turn this into a shaker card I added a piece of acetate to the kraft panel, placed foam tape around the squares and added sequins from the Maple Burbn Splash, Candy Corn Shot and Screwdriver mixes.

To finish the card I added the shaker panel to a Kraft card base.

Sketch Time

It's time for a new challenge at AAA Cards, our sponsor is Happy Little Stampers with a $20 gift certificate. For this game we have a sketch to inspire you. I don't know about you but I love sketches and I can't wait to see everyone's take on it, I hope you will play along.

To create my card I started with a top folding white card base and a white panel cut down with a stitched die.  I used the MFT shaker window and frame and cut the center out, and the Lovable Leopards set, I used Copic markers to color little Leo.

MFT SuperStar Challenge

Late night card share and my last entry for the Card Design Superstar challenge at My Favorite Things. This one is for the Innovation Master challenge for specialty cards.
To make my card I used the cute Magical Dragons set and the Happy Birthday Circle Frame along with the Circle Shaker Pouches which make making a shaker card a lot easier.
I started with white top folding note card and a stitched panel cut down with a blueprints die. I used the Radiating Rays stencil behind the shaker and also masked off the dragon so it is shining behind him also. For the shaker i used the Shaker pouch and placed the Happy Birthday circle frame around it. To finish the card I colored the dragon using Chameleon pens and added the panel to the card base.

Heart of Gold

Happy Sunday!
Today starts new game at AAA Cards and it's CAS Shaker.

I love making shaker cards the easy way using the fuse tool, but since my move I really have no clue where it is at the moment so I used a cellophane envelope and some score tape for this one.
I started with a cut stitched panel using the Silly Stitched mats from Lil Inker Designs, and then watercolored a very light wash on panel. I cut out the heart using the Heart of Gold die and then cut it out of gold foil as well. I placed the gold foil heart back in the negative space. and placed the packet of sequins from Pretty, Pink, Posh behind it. For the sentiment I used the Heart of Gold stamp.
