August Postage Party

Today's card is for the Postage Party hop over on Instagram that I am participating in. This hop is a group of card makers who love using postage dies. 

To make this card, I started with a white top folding A2 card base and a panel of Bristol vellum. I cut the postage die out of the bristol and then creating a background using the smooshing technique and Distress Oxide inks. 

I added in the elements using the following sets.

Family Matters

Happy Father's day to all the dads out there in blogland. With it being father's day I decided to share a mixed media card today. 

To make this card come together I used several different products. I started with a white top folding A2 card base and a white panel.

I used distress oxide sprays in Uncharted Marianer and Wild Honey for the background. I stamped some mixed media elements from the Mixed textures set by Hero Arts and the Time Well Spent by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps in one of Concord & 9th's new colors Nutmeg.

Animal Crackers

Hello and thanks for stopping by!

There is a new challenge up at A Blog Named Hero, so it's time to break out your

 supplies and stay crafty.

Our challenge for February is Animal Crackers so break out your cute little animals and play along with us.

To make my card I started with a white top folding card base, a charcoal panel and a white panel.

I created a background on the white panel using the Snowflake stencil and the new Lost Shadow distress oxide ink.

I stamped the cute penguin on a seperate piece of cardstock, colored it using OLO markers and then cut out the pieces with the coordinating dies.

I adhered the charcoal panel to the cardbase and then the snowflake panel. 

 To finish the card I popped the penguin on the snowflake panel and added a greeting from the same set.

I am trying to get an early start on my Christmas cards because I make them for a local nursing home and have so many to make

MTCC Sketch

Happy Monday! 

It's time for a new challenge at Make The Cards Challenges. This week we have a sketch for you. Let me tell ya when I saw this sketch I knew exactly what I wanted to do with some of the scrap pieces I had in my stash. 

To make this card I started with a white top folding card base and a white panel cut down with a stitched die.  I had some pieces of a foiled floral card gone bad (operator error) so I used the Hexagon die by Simon Says Stamp to cut a portion of it, I also has some striped design paper scraps by Altenew and the last hexagon I created with some distress oxide inks. To finish the card I added some gems from the Fire gem mix by Picket Fence Studios and a sentiment strip by Taylored Expressions

Beyond The Blue - Impressionism Redux

Friday means it's time for another challenge at Beyond the Blue. Virtual Stamping

Hi there and thanks for stopping by!

Today is my birthday and since there isn't any places I can go with this pandemic, I will be staying home and stamping. I had mentioned the Virtual Stamp Night (VSN) over at Splitcoaststampers, well I have had a migraine all weekend so I will be catching u on that. 

I know you are thinking you have seen this card before and you have, well sort of. I made a couple cards like these a few weeks ago and I loved them so much I decided to make another for the VSN challenge Petals of White. . 

To create my card I simply stamped the flower from the Blessings in Disguise set, masked it off and them  bended some Worn Lipstick, Carve Pumpkin, and Mustard Seed for the background. The sentiment is from the Cheerful Hexies set. 

He is With Us

I am up on the Picket Fence Studios blog today with this card featuring the Swim In The Sea set. Everything is so chaotic with the Covid-19 virus that I am sending out as many encouragement cards as I can because we all need a little encouragement  right now.

To create this card I started with a white top folding card base and a bristol panel, I have found that ink blends really well using the Life Changing Blender Brushes and Bristol card stock. 

I started by blending Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean distress oxide inks with the  Life Changing Blender Brushes and a little water to create my background.  Next I stamped the water bubbles from the set A Bottomless Sea with embossing ink and embossed it with Under The Sea embossing glitter by WOW embossing. They are so sparkly here is an up close photo

I stamped the sea turtles from the Swim in the Sea set, colored them using Copic markers and then cut them out with the Coordinating dies.  These sea turtles remind me of Squirt and his dad in the Finding Nemo movie I love them!

To finish my card I added a sentiment from the A Bottomless Sea set that is so encouraging and reminds us that no matter what we are going through we are never alone God is alway with His children.

Now for the deets on my cards.

For the first one I started with a top folding white card base and a white panel. I stamped the flower image from the Blessings in Disguise set and stamped it again on masking paper to be able to mask it off while I created the background.

For the background I blended Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Carved pumpkin distress oxides using the Life Changing Blender Brushes by Picet Fence Studios. After I finished the background I spritzed water for texture. I removed the mask and added a greeting from the Sweet Little Lamb set.

Because I loved the way the first card turned out I decided to use the design for my second card, just in different colors. For the second one I used Cracked Pistachio, Twisted Citron, and Peacock Feathers. The greeting on this one is from the Walk by Faith set which is what we have to do right now with the coronavirus right? God has this and He will brig glory to Himself through it all. Next you are heading to Diane's blog

Day 19 with Simon Says Stamp

 Welcome to Day 19 of my series 25 Days of Christmas Inspiration. We have had a ton of snow here so I thought I would bring that into a card but also give it some color.

Today's card is featuring this circle die by Simon Says Stamp. To create this card, I started with a white top folding card base and a white panel cut down a quarter of an inch smaller.

I cut a out a circle a tad larger than the die cut and blended together some distress oxide inks over it and then added the recut to the front of it. For the background I used a stencil by Echo park and some glitter paste by Nuvo

I am up on the Sweet 'n Sassy blog today with this card using two August release sets Give Thanks (which you can earn free with a $75 order) and Incredibly Blessed along with some distress oxides to create the background. It's My day

Today is my day to host a challenge for the Dare to get Dirty challenges over on Splitcoaststampers. If you are a fan club member come play along, if not you will want to join and lay along because then you can see what my challenge is and there are prizes involved!

To create my card I used the Refresh my Soul stamp set by Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and created a desert background for it using distress oxides. I also watercolored the cactus using them as well. I love how they are opaque and ayer on top of each other
