Favorite Hydrangea

It's time for another challenge at Addicted to CAS,  our sponsor is Happy Little Stampers with a $15 gift certificate to their store. Here is the challenge, with is definitely a challenge.

How are we supposed to pick one favorite stamp? I have a ton of favorites, so I chose a stamp that is one of my favorites and it was my Moms favorite flower. I remember having huge hydrangea bushes all around our house in blues, pinks, purple and even a whitish one.  The blue one was my favorite!
My friend lost her father last week so I made this card to send her.

To make my card I started with a white top folding note card and some watercolor paper. Using the MISTI (because anytime I am stamping on watercolor paper I need to make sure I get a crisp image and that's exactly what MISTI was made for) I stamped the hydrangea image from the set Mondo Hydrangea by Ellen Hutson with Versafine ink and used Daniel Smith watercolors to color it and the cut it out with the coordinating die. The greeting is from the set Sentiment Essentials by Reverse Confetti.
To finish the crafter stamping the greeting I just popped up the hydrangea using foam tape

  1. One of my favorite stamps, too. Really like your watercolor treatment.

  2. My Mom had two hydrangea bushes that I moved to our house when she passed away. I think of her every time they bloom. You've made a wonderful sympathy card, Ceal.

  3. Beautiful watercoloring on your Hydrangea, Ceal...I love blue, too! Lovely CAS design, as always!

  4. I think we all battled to choose a favorite stamp this week. Thank you for sharing the story behind yours. I am sure your friend will have really appreciated this beautiful stamp. Your watercoloring is perfect.

  5. A wonderful sympathy card design. I love the pretty hydrangea on it too.

  6. My fav flower too! Love your card!
