A birthday Celebration!

Happy Sunday and welcome to our Birthday blog hop at AAA Cards.
We are turning two and we're celebrating with lots of giveaways. Look at all these sponsors who have offered up prizes.

I am first on the hop but, you will want to make sure to visit each DT member's Blog, there are prizes to be won by visiting each of us. First off we will all have a hidden word on our blogs and each of us will ask a question and will pick a winner from the answers. Be sure to visit AAA Cards to get the deets on how to win.

Here's my Birthday card

To make my card used two panels of watercolor paper. the first one I used the new Gansai Tambi Starry palette, and cut out the balloons using the Papertrey Ink Best Birthday die. On the second panel I made a wash background using Mission Gold watercolors, attached the balloons and added the greeting. I finished the card by adding sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to the panel and attaching it to a white card base.

Now for my question
Birthdays=gifts
What is the best birthday gift (stamping related) that you have ever received. For me there is only one answer and it's definitely my MISTI. I don't know how I ever stamped without it, I use it on almost every card I make. Can't wait to hear your stories.
One of my lucky commenters who answers my question will win this cute set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

be sure to stop back by after the challenge closes to see if you won.

Your next stop is Coralynn, but I have a complete list below in case you get lost along the way

Happy Hopping!

  5. Such a cute card with the gold balloons and blue wash background! My favourite gift must be my big shot plus as it has saved me loads of stencilling and fussy cutting time! For stamping, it'll hopefully be my misti when it arrives in July!

  8. I love your card Ceal, its very pretty.
My fav. birthday gift was from my son & DIL and it was a gift bag full of stamps, paper, washi, bling, tape runner, etc. My beautiful daughter in law knows me SO well. (Best present, EVER!)

  9. This is lovely, Ceal. Beautiful bg, great die cut and super combination of colors. I have to use my MISTI! I've had it for a year, but just recently got the proper magnets (I think) but have not tried it since. I like gift certificates to PTI and SSS and other companies as gifts. Then I get to choose and it is like and extended birthday! :)

  10. Those balloons look so great on that watercolourbackground!
The birthday-pressie for my stamping that I still think is the greatest gift are some Distress inks....I don't have a Misti and am so used to using my stamppostioner.

  11. I LOVE this card Ceal. I love the watercolor background and the blue hues. I also love the gold balloons, and of course, now I need that die. This blog hope is already costing me a bundle. LOL. My favorite stamp-related BD gift was a box of Kuretake watercolors. I am still working on my watercoloring skills with them, but I love them.

  12. Love those outline balloons - jumped straight to the top of my wishlist! The misti has revolutionised my stamping and has to be the best ever gift I've been bought - even if I did cheat and have total input into its purchase.

  14. I have always been a crafting, but my first card making gift was gift certificate to SSS. I loaded up on basics. Frame dies, sentiment stamps, and inks. Love your card and I hope I can win

  15. Oh I would love to get a Misti for my birthday! (Fingers crossed that I will!) As for the best birthday craft present I have every received, it would have to be Silhouette Portrait. I have the best hubby!

  16. Pretty card! Love the balloons against that pretty background!
Best birthday present I ever received... I got to spend my birthday at Disneyland! It was quite a few years ago, and at my favorite spot to visit! I was in the area for a stamp convention that weekend also, so a fun time the entire weekend!

  17. Beautiful card!! I have long wanted those balloons from PTI : ) You are making me need to shop! heeheehee

My best gift was many years ago when I received my first Big Shot. I have never used one before but my amazing husband was searching for a gift for my birthday and HE fell in love with it! LOL When he gave it to me I scratched my head and said I have no idea what to do with this! LOL We jumped int he car and he took me to a LSS and they demonstrated it. I have many tools I use in my cardmaking but I rarely make a card where my Big shot is not involved : )

Thank you for a fun challenge !!

  18. The stamping related birthday gift I love the most was one several years ago -- a Fiskars paper trimmer. I have just about worn the thing out, but so far it still works. I was hoping for a Mini Misti this year but no one took the hints I thought I had made pretty accessible! LOL

  19. That's an easy question. It would definitely be my Studio Tower by the Original Scrapbox Co. It was a belated birthday gift from my husband and I simply adore it...and my husband too!!

  20. Ohhhhh this is a hard question... I don't think I can think of a favorite gift but I've always loved when my kids make me cards!

  21. Lovely card! My favorite crafting gift was from a fellow crafter who knew I was just getting started and didn't have very many dies, so she cut a lot of die cuts out with dies she had (and knew I didn't have) and mailed them to me. It was the most thoughtful gift ever!

  22. Love the card, Ceal!! The blue looks awesome against the balloons!
For the question, I've never got on! :) We don't have a tradition of giving gifts, we only give cards. So, its been me giving my handmade cards to them instead. But I do get cards from them, though not handmade, and they are plenty! :)

  23. The background looks beautiful. I loved the simplicity of the card! For me the best gift is getting the first stamp set when I started making cards last year

  34. Great card. I have never received a stamping birthday gift. I have received some for Christmas and it was a wooden stamp shelf organizer

  35. Grea CAS card. My favorite crafty birthday gift is a handmade card my husban made. It was like what you made in elementary school. He printed out a couple of pictures of us and then cut out our faces in shapes of balloons. He asked me if he can have access to my crafting supplies and went at it. This was probably 10 years ago, and I kept the card to this day. Brings a smile o my face because he made a real effort.

  40. Your blue background is ever so pretty; a lovely canvas for those marvelous balloons! I'm smitten! Best crafting gift (of many!): my Honeybee scissors, which my husband 'sleuthed' out for me. Guess he was tired of hearing me whining about using 'kindergarten' scissors *grin*

  42. I love this fabulous golden die cut balloons against that fantastic blue water color wash, just gorgeous.
One of the best crafting gifts I've ever received was, believe it or not, a Stampin Up! handmade card a friend mail to me a good 12 years ago with a note about how she did it, what stamps and products she used and also, the request for me to go check the Stampin Up! web store, I was blown away by this beautiful stamps and products and, by the end of that visit, I was already registered and had a SU demonstrator, it's been a wonderful experience!!
Thank you for the chance to win.
    Hugs,
    Maria Rodriguez.

  43. A stunning card! my best ever birthday gift was when I was a newbie crafter, my heat gun. I'd been trying to emboss over the toaster until then! It saved a lot of scorched paper and burnt fingers, and about 25 years on that same heat gun is still in daily use

  60. Such a cheerful card, thanks for sharing! Every year I told my mom to get me wooden stamps, which is the only option in Taiwan, for my birthday except one year when I got a bicycle. I came to the U.S. for college and for me it's also entering a stamping paradise! There are so much more stamps (clear ones, too!) and special tools and embellishments and dies. I agree that the misti is truly THE incredible tool, but I'd say the best crafting gift I've received is the Cuttlebug I got from my boyfriend. It's so expensive in Taiwan that I couldn't buy it without any guilt. So glad to have it now and uses it on a weekly basis!
