Happy Friday!
My Sweet Petunia has teamed up with Impression Obsession for a collaboration blog hop. This means you are in for a treat with beautiful inspiration from both design teams.
Be sure to hop along with us and comment on each blog for a chance to win! We are giving away a Mini Misti and a $25 IO gift certificate. On Wednesday October 12th we will draw from everyone who leaves a comment on ALL the blogs in the hop. The winners will be posted on the MSP & IO blogs as well as their FB pages. You can find the order of the hop at the bottom of this post.
I chose to make a Christmas card because Christmas is only 79 days away...Eeep!
To make my card I started with an Old Olive top folding card base and a panel of watercolor paper. The stamp I chose for the hop is this beautiful Poinsettia Sketch, which is a Cover-a-Card stamp, this means it totally covers your card front for an A2 card like a background stamp. Which also means the greeting I chose to go with this image, would not fit on the outside of my card, so it is on the inside.
When I use watercolor paper I always use the MISTI because of the texture, I usually have to over stamp and that is exactly what the Misti is used for, precision stamping. The MISTI also makes it easy when using a background stamp, I hardly ever purchased background stamps before the MISTI because I could never get a good clean image the first time I stamped and then I could not line it back up to over stamp. I am so thankful for My Sweet Petunia inventing a tool that saved me lots of frustration and paper.
I stamped the Poinsettia Sketch using the Original MISTI in versa fine black onyx ink and then used Zig pens to color the image. After it was dry I sponged a little distress ink around the outsides of the panel to give it more of a vintage feel.
Be sure to hop along and leaves comments for a chance to win!

ReplyDeleteOh my! I was waiting for the image of your card to load (HughesNet in the mountains is a bit slow, to say the least) and when it popped up, I gasped. My husband said, "What's the matter?" and I told him there was a beautiful card that just loaded. He didn't understand at all. Men! They just don't get how we card makers appreciate beautiful projects, LOL! I couldn't decide what to do first--just enjoy or sign up for a Zip coloring workshop. So I'm just going to say, TFS! Beautiful!
