Eat, Drink & Be Scary

Happy Thursday!
Halloween is definitely going to be different this year, for the past five years in Colorado we always went to halloween parties and loved seeing all the kids dressed up, this year I live in a small mountain town with neighbors that are only here on vacation, so there will be no trick or treating and no parties (insert sad face here) this year.

For my card I used the Be Scary and the Halloween Tree, these two stamps go great together and the galaxy background is perfect.  So Suzy has lots of other stamps that this background will look great with also.

To make my card I started with a Smoky Slate A2 Base and a white panel for the background. With the galaxy background there are several different ways to achieve it, I used distress inks, Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire, Squeezed Lemonade, Blueprint Sketch, Hickory Smoke and Black Soot

I forgot to take a picture before I added the Hickory Smoke and Back Soot, but I randomly sponged all the other colors over the white panel, next I used Hickory Smoke and sponged very lightly over the entire panel to tone it down a little and added Black Soot around the edges.

The next step is to take water and splatter it across the panel and let dry, then water down some acrylic paint to the consistency of milk and splatter it across the panel, I used the distress splatter brush for this step because it gives you little fine splatters that look like far away stars.

The last step is to add your image, if you are adding it directly on the background like I did, then the MISTI is a necessity, because you will have to stamp it several times to get a strong image. I used Versafine black onyx, but you can use any archival ink.

I hope you have enjoyed this little tutorial and will give it a try

Happy Stamping!
