Last Post For 2009

I will leave you this year with this card share using one of my favorite Sweet 'n Sassy stamps to make a masculine card. The set is Light Of The World and is back in stock! I love how this stamp turns out when colored. my husband is a big lighthouse fan and has them for his office. I used the grid technique and sponged it and added twine to give it that vintage feel.
I pray you all have a safe New Years Eve and a Blessed 2010.
Happy New Year!

Count Your Blessings

I still can't believe it is almost 2010. 2010...wow I remember that song "Party like it's 1999", and 1999 was so far in the future, now it is 11 years past 1999. Remember the year 2000 when everyone was so scared of Y2K what was going to happen? Everyone thought Jesus was coming back that year and here it is 2010 and still waiting for Jesus to return. I truly believe that the end is very near, though no one knows the time or date for Jesus' return. He will come life a thief in the night. Let's count our blessings today and be ready because we are not promised tomorrow.
The stamps I used on my card are from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Dream Silhouettes and the sentiment is from Jesus Cares

Sweet Stop Sneak Peek

Good evening!
Sweet 'n Sassy will release 7 new sets on Jan 7th. I wanted to share a sneak peek with you. This cute little snowman is from a mini set "I Love You Thus Much". Isn't this snowman a cutie? I have a heart for snowmen as I have a collection that I put out at Christmas and leave up through winter. The sketch I used is this weeks Sweet Stop sketch.

Giving Thanks

It is nowhere near thanksgiving but I was reflecting on the upcoming new year and giving thanks for all God has done for me in 2009. We serve an awesome God who takes care of our every need. I love the cracked glass technique how it makes things look vintage. The scripture I used for this card is a retired set from SNS Thanksgiving scripture.

Stamp Something

Stamp Something's challenge is to make something that reminds you of the holidays season. I took it as the Christmas season my favorite time of year. Red and Green always remind me of Christmas. When I think of red, I think of Christ blood that He shed for me and green reminds me that I am to grow in that relationship with Him. I pray you have that relationship with Christ, if not please leave me a comment and I will get back with you on how you can become a child of the King. The sketch I used for my card is this weeks sketch at 2Sketches4You.

This is my last card share for today and it uses an oldie but goodie from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps Snowflakes. I love the sketches at Clean & Simple Stamping, and when I saw this sketch I knew this set was perfect. I will be back tomorrow with some more cards to share as I am loving being able to stamp again

Mojo Monday 119

Good afternoon!
I am so happy to be back to stampin! I feel it has been months and it has only been a couple weeks. This card also shares the set from Sweet 'n Sassy Tress Of The Field. Not only is this a great set because of its beauty. This set is a tribute set in honor of Henry Anderson the 3yr old son of a former DT member Sarah Anderson who lost her little boy in October of this year.
The set features 6 different tree silhouettes as well as sentiments and scripture. It sells for $18.75 with $5.00 for each set sold going to the Anderson Family. We would love for you to help the Anderson family by ordering one of these sets.
The sketch is the Mojo Monday sketch for this week.

Stampin' Sisters In Christ #19

Good Morning!
This weeks challenge was set by Lisa , she choose Psalm 25:4-5 as the scripture to reflect on as you make your challenge card

Psalm 25:4-5 "Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior and my hope is in you all day long."

As we approach a new year what a great verse to reflect on. Let us all make this our prayer to allow the Lord to guide us in His truth for our journey here on earth.
The challenge is to make a New Years card or project. Our sponsor the Cutting Cafe has lots of digis you can use to make our card. Regina gave the DT some digi's to use but unfortunately due to all my computer problems I do not yet have my printer hooked up yet.
To play along with us create a New Years project and post a link on the SSCC blog using Mr. Linky. If you post to an online gallery, please use SSCC19 as the keyword so we can find it

Stampin' Sisters in Christ Gettin' Sketchy

Good Sunday afternoon!
I have been sending some time with my daughter who will be stationed at Ramstein Air Base in Germany in January, thus the reason for a late post.
I cannot believe Christmas is this week! Wow where did the time go!?!
Kathy is our hostess for this week and she chose for us to focus on the Wonderful Christmas story that gave us a reason to celebrate Easter this week

Luke 1:26-32.
"In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary.
The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored? The Lord is with you."
Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David."
Her challenge to us was to make a card using a sketch drawn up by here, you can find it HERE.
I chose to make a Christmas card using her sketch. Please stop by our Bog and see how the rest of the DT chose to use her sketch and participate for a chance to win a prize from our sponsor Scrapbook News and Review, a three month subscription to SNR magazine

SSCC #17 Bling

Good afternoon, I hope you are having a blessed Sunday as it is the Third Sunday in Advent.
My card is late today because I had a little problem with my computer. It finally crashed bit the dust. it would have been nice to give me just a tiny bit of notice. So that made Santa come early to my house. On to the challenge.

Kristine is our challenge hostess this week and she choose the following verse :

Matthew 6:19-21 "Do not store up for yourself treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

The challenge is to use [crafty] "treasures" on your card or other project... in other words, BLING IT UP! (ie. bling = gems, pearls, dazzling diamonds, charms, glitter, etc.)
My card uses an image from Sugar nellie and for my treasure (Bling), I used glitter on her wings and gold stickles on her dress. I also used liquid applique with a touch of glitter on the puppy's hat. The paper is Graphic 45 Christmas Past from Paper Maniac

Julie assigned each of us a part of the dinner. If you have never done a progressive dinner before they are really fun! You go from house to house to eat a course of the meal. My course is the salad. If We Humble Ourselves

Good Sunday morning to ya!
I am our host at Stampin' Sisters in Christ this week and I was lead to the following verse.
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

2 Chronicles 7:14
The challenge is to make a card using an image of people (i.e. children, men women) to let someone know you are praying for them. Maybe you know someone who is sick, battling cancer, or maybe someone who has had a bad week and needs a card saying I am praying for you!
Prayer is such a powerful weapon against satan. Prayer is also very powerful when interceding for others. God promises to heal our land if we just humble ourselves and pray, how cool is that?
I don't think any of us can fathom how powerful prayer really is. It can move a mountain. I know there are times I have prayed and in the back of my mind thought, that's not going to happen. We need to put our trust in God's ability to do what He says He will do. God is all powerful, all knowing and always present. I pray that God will help me to handle things with prayer and always look to him for guidance amongst this crazy world we live in.
My card uses a discontinued stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy Child Of God. The paper is CTMH, I used copics for my coloring and a MS border punch

Distressed Snow Angel

Good Afternoon!
The card I am sharing with you today uses the distressing technique. I used the graphic 45 Christmas Past papers which I love because of the vintage look. These papers are great to use the distressing technique with. To distress you just run your distressing tool or a pair of scissors down the sides of your paper to rough it up. I also use a piece of sanding paper as well along the sides and corners. Next you swipe a contrast ink pad over the sides and corners to give it that worn look. The stamp I used is the Snow Angel from Serendipity Stamps. I finished it off with twine and a button from the Christmas buttons , you can find these and many many more supplies at Paper Maniac. Enjoy the rest of your day and have a wonderful weekend
