More SOA gearing up for the Finale
May 30, 2009
Even More SOA Cards
My card was made for the Gina K. Sketch challenge at Stampin Out Alzheimer's . There is still time to join and get in on the fun but tomorrow is the last day. You have until midnight to complete the challenges to be eligible to win.
This card is for the MoJo Monday challenge but completing this challenge also makes you eligible to win over at SOA. This was a fun sketch to work with and it is one I am sure I will use again. The stamp I used for this one is a Sweet 'n Sassy scripture one from the set "Jesus Cares", which is one of my faves.
Well I am down to only 4 more challenges for the SOA event and I would have made a separate card for each challenge. As you all know I love to combine challenges to see how many I can get on one card. I feel this is a worthy cause and wanted to give SOA all the exposure I can. Check back later for the rest of the challenges. Better yet join and help out!

More Stampin' Out Alzheimers
If you have not joined Stampin' Out Alzheimer's, you should do so today! There are tons of challenges and chances to win some great prizes. You can join simply by making a $5.00 donation to this worthy cause. My card today is for a sketch challenge set by Taylored Expressions. For an extra shot at winning you could make your card a birthday card, so I did just that. A girl needs all the chances she can get.
For this card I used an oldie but goodie stamp set from Close To My Heart "Delight In Everything" and design paper from Let's Get Together Paperpack, also from CTMH. To get the yellow ink block in the middle of my card I simply inked up my acrylic block and stamped on the CS. I added brads and ribbon to embellish.

Sweet Thang!
Doesn't the cupcake make you want one?? As I was coloring it in I starting wishing I had one to eat :) The sketch for this card is one of Jen's at i{heart}2stamp. There is a new challenge blog Allsorts whose first challenge is "Sweets" and who doesn't love sweets. I used shimmerz and stickles on my cupcake to meet the challenge requirements at Secret Crafter of "Glitter" also.

Philippians 4:13
My card today goes for a four challenges. The first is Carddvarks challenge to make a NEW card incorporating a quote or verse. The BasicGrey challenge is ICE CREAM any way you want to interpret it. Since I do not have a ice cream stamp I was inspired by my favorite ice cream Napoleon ?sp?~Chocolate, Strawberry and Vanilla~which are the colors in my card. One Stop Craft has a color combo challenge of Pink & Brown. The sketch is #57 from Triple The Sketch where you can find sketches that will work for cards, altered projects or layouts. I love how this turned out but then again Pink and Brown is one of my fave color combos.

CASEing A Friend
I also made this card for this week's Bible Verse Thursday on CPCM where the challenge is to make a card using a bible verse of course but also using the colors Black, Tan and Teal/Aqua Blue.
My card uses a Digi stamp from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps Gossamer Butterfly and a computer generated verse which I just noticed that I forgot to put the verse reference 2 Corinthians 5:17. I colored the Butterfly with my copics and distress the paper with distress inks. The technique used on the butterfly is the cracked glass technique, then wiped with distress ink to distress it more. I added a black ribbon to bring out the black in the design paper and butterfly.
I choose the verse 2 Corinthians 5:17 because butterflies remind me of this verse they become a new creature, as do we when we accept Christ as our Savior. The old is gone and we are a new creation!

Swingtime Gretchen
I have another Sweet 'n Sassy creation to share with you. This one is a digi stamp Swing Time from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for only $3.00 and you get to play right away. I drew the tree in so she would have a tree to swing from and the sentiment is computer generated. The papers are from CTMH and I used my copic markers for coloring.
The sketch for this one can be found on this new challenge blog Sunday Sketch & Stamp.
May Sweet 'n Sassy Roundup
For this Month's roundup I am using the Bee Happy set for my card. I used the outside the box technique as my focal point with the three daisy's. I also used the paper tole technique to give the flowers and bees a 3D look, and my Copic markers for coloring.
This set along with other Spring and Summer sets are on sale at Sweet 'n Sassy until the end of the month. What that means for you is that you can purchase this little set for only $6.38 how cool is that?
Visit Sweet 'n Sassy today as we kick off the summer with a Funtastic sale!
